Hahaha, actually, the 1998 version DID legally get permission from Toho to make a Godzilla film. However, they considered the film so bad that a year later, they released another Godzilla film that had a small portion of dialogue saying we North Americans only thought it was Godzilla, but it really wasn't. :p

Yeah, toho called the 98 monster "Zilla", and also they killed it in a later film. But that bit up there is from Austin Powers.
I totally didn't get that reference at all! (Also, why only typed "Tm" instead of "Thomas" is beyond me...)
The film that they killed him in was called "Godzilla:Final Wars"
Did you know the name "Godzilla" was a combination of "gorilla" and "whale"?
D'you know that "Gorilla-whale" was an enormous guy who worked on the film lot?
We've watched the same reviews/documentaries, haven't we?
"Cinemassacre monster madness, godzilla-thon"? If so, then yes.
all 29 eps of it, haha. And all 31 eps of the regular Monster Madness.
